For many, art is pleasure to senses; but to some art is passion.
Welcome to Learn to Sketch. I have always felt that drawing and sketching is something that drives you to the creativity. When you draw someone or something important, it becomes a part of you. So you will care more and nurture more when you are in the progress of your creation. You would feel amazed every time you look at the sketch in progress. You would want to make it perfect in all way. And you would eagerly want to show your creation to the world.
The motivation behind setting up this website is to help you create a sketch that you would proudly show to the world as your own. Believe me; you would not want your sketch that nobody appreciates.
When I was in school, I used to scribble and write text as thick 3D with hatches and cross hatches. It was fun doing that in various colored
ball pen. I usually had black, blue, green, red ball pen. I still remember my friends used to come to me to get their names written in this way. I really really liked that doing. I am sure you also might have done something similar. Wasn’t it fun !! 🙂
Then I wasn’t aware of my passion to art, but yeah I guess those fun times with colored ball pens turned into the passion of sketching, which I adore very much. 🙂
Who have done something similar in school days? Do write your story in the comment about how you found your passion for sketching. 🙂
I was terrible at drawing in the beginning; I wasn’t able to draw basic structures. You know the kind of basic structures like chair, glass, tables etc. But I never felt embarrassed, I always felt motivated to make it look good, look perfect. And I wasn’t desperate either to perfect it in an instant.
I tried to draw various objects which I could see around me, made a lot of mistakes and lot of funny drawings out of that. You know it’s OK sometimes to make mistakes. 🙂
I did not have any formal training on drawing and sketching. I bought some not-so-worthy books on drawing, some useless pencils, couldn’t find the best. But I had the reference as the real object and observation. If you look closely and observe the object daily with a intent to draw it on paper; you will start seeing it differently; you will start seeing its curves, its texture, its shade, its tone.
Wonder if I had someone to tell me all these, my skills would have developed very early. So, I dedicate this website to all those who want to improve their drawing and sketching skills.
